Legalize Marijuana Super PAC Launched
Two brothers from California have recently formed a new Super PAC (political action committee), with the intent of bringing cannabis law reform throughout the country. The PAC, titled the Legalize Marijuana Super-PAC, was filed a couple weeks ago with the Federal Election Commission.
We had the opportunity to speak with the President of this new effort, Mark Rogers, who let us know that their goal is “Full legalization at this point, though the idea seeded as a medical marijuana initiative.” He continues, “Basically were going to sponsor pro-legalization lawmakers, and we’ll be in the ear of lawmakers and legislators trying to clarify some of the existing laws”.
In addition to being a lobbying organization, the group has full plans to fund initiative efforts to legalize marijuana, “We are absolutely interested in funding everyone who has interest in our goal”, which he lets us know may very well including upcoming legalization efforts in Missouri and California.
According to Mark, the group is currently in the process of structuring their committee, and spreading the word of their endeavor. You can find the PAC’s official website by clicking here, though Rogers makes it clear that the site is under heavy construction, and will be updated within the next 30 days.
Mark will be running the PAC with his brother Dennis, who will be the committees treasurer. Currently the two run Canna-King Collective in California, which is a medical marijuana delivery service.
