Dalai Lama Announces Support for Legalizing Medical Cannabis

Speaking at a an event in Guanajuato, Mexico, the Dalai Lama said that he supports legalizing the medical use of cannabis.
The Dali Lama, who is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, says that although he doesn’t support the use of cannabis for recreational purposes, the medical use of cannabis should be “the exception”.
The comments were made at an event held by former Mexico President Vicente Fox, who supports legalizing cannabis for all uses as a means of combating the nation’s dangerous drug cartels, who make a majority of their profits off of the sale of cannabis.
Tenzin Gyatso, who’s 79, took over as the 14th Dalai Lama in 1950.
