Those who receive a prescription from a physician are now – as of Monday, June 13th – legally authorized to purchase cannabis-based products for medical use from pharmacies across the country. This is possible due to recent amendments to the Law on Control of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances that make the sale and use of cannabis products for medicinal purposes legal for people suffering from certain illnesses, such as malignant diseases, multiple sclerosis, cancer, HIV/AIDS and epilepsy.”

“This will help a huge number of Macedonian citizens that are fighting serious illnesses and have a need for treatment with nature-based products,” says Marija Darkovska-Serafimovska, the head of Macedonia’s agency for medicines.

Unfortunately the medicines – which include things such as tinctures, pills and ointments – must contain no than 0.2% THC, though there is no limit on the percentage of CBD.
