Former NFL Star Ricky Williams Opening Cannabis-Friendly Gym in California
As a member of the New Orlean Saints, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens, Ricky Williams played as a running back in the NFL (National Football League) for over a decade, include five season in which he rushed for over 1,000 yards (a sought-after feat for those unfamiliar with the sport). In total, he garnered over 10,000 yards and 66 touchdowns. These accomplishments are despite Williams being held back by multiple suspensions due to testing positive for cannabis.
Now, Williams is the co-owner of a forthcoming San Francisco gym – called Power Plant Fitness – which will be the first openly cannabis-friendly gym in the country. Also co-owner of the gym is Jim McAlpine, founder of the 420 Games (which holds athletic competitions for cannabis users in order to help fight the stigma that cannabis makes you lazy).
Members of the gym will be able to openly consume cannabis while working out, and the gym will offer a line of cannabis-infused foods and drinks.
Power Plant Fitness is expected to open in November.
