Over 10 Tons of Legal Cannabis Being Sold Each Month in Colorado, According to New Report

A new study conducted by Colorado’s Marijuana Policy Group for the state’s Department of Health has found that over 10 tons of legal cannabisstate-flag-colorado is being sold in the state every month, putting that the annual market demand at roughly 130 metric tons, or 260,000 pounds.

The study, which included the total market demand for both medical and recreational cannabis, used actual sales data to determine their figure, meaning the numbers are quite reliable. The report found the annual demand for cannabis from Colorado residents to be 121 metric tons, with 9 metric metric tons being the demand from out-of-state visitors.

According to the study, the average price of legal cannabis – when accounting for medical and recreational sales – is $220 an ounce.
