Oregon State Fair Now Underway with First Ever Cannabis Exhibit
The Oregon State Fair is now officially underway, and for the first time in its history it features a cannabis exhibit with plants displayed for the public to view. It’s actually the first time live cannabis plants have ever been displayed at a state fair in the United States.
The exhibit was done as a 4H style competition, with blue, purple and yellow ribbons given to the winning plants; plants were judged before the event by a panel of professional growers including Ed Rosenthal.
The plants are displayed under a tent that is accessible by anyone with an ID showing that they’re at least 21 years old.
In Oregon the personal possession, cultivation and licensed distribution of cannabis is legal for those 21 and older thanks to a voter approved initiative in 2014.
The Oregon State Fair runs August 26th to September 5th.
