Poll: 81% in Wyoming Support Medical Cannabis Legalization, 41% Support Full Legalization

Wyoming In Wyoming, the most rural and arguably the most conservative state in the country, 81% of residents support the legalization of medical cannabis. This is according to a new poll conducted by the Survey and Analysis Center at the University of Wyoming.

The 81% of Wyoming residents in support of medical cannabis legalization marks a 7% increase from 2014 when the Center asked the same question. The survey also found quickly growing support for legalizing cannabis for personal use, with 41% in support; a 4% increase from 2014.

Wyoming Initiative to Legalize Medical Cannabis Receives Approval from Secretary of State

medicalbudMembers of the Wyoming chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) are now allowed to begin collecting signatures on their initiative to legalize medical cannabis, with the goal of placing it on the November, 2016 general election ballot.

The group was notified Thursday by Secretary of State Ed Murray’s office that their initiative has been approved for circulation. The proposal would allow those with certain debilitating conditions to possess, cultivate, purchase and use cannabis for medical purposes. Advocates will need to collect 25,700 signatures from registered Wyoming voters by February 8th for the measure to be put to a vote of the people.

Wyoming Activists File Initiative to Legalize Medical Cannabis, Aim for 2016 Ballot

Themedcanptsd Wyoming chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) has filed an initiative to legalize medical cannabis with the Secretary of State.

Once advocates receive approval from the state, they’ll be given the go-ahead to begin collecting signatures for the initiative. If they collect 25,673 signatures from registered Wyoming voters by February 8th, 2016, the initiative will be placed on that year’s general election ballot in November.

Poll: 72% of Wyoming Residents Support Legalizing Medical Cannabis, 62% Support Decriminalization

A large majority of those residing in Wyoming, one of the nation’sSOURCE: Cannabis Now Magazine most conservative states, are in support of legalizing medical cannabis and decriminalizing cannabis possession, according to new polling conducted by the University of Wyoming.

According to the poll, 72% of residents in Wyoming support the use of medical cannabis if recommended by a physician, with just 25% opposed. The survey also found a majority – 62% – to be in support of removing the possibility of jail-time for those caught in possession of cannabis.
