Improvements to Vermont’s Medical Cannabis Program Take Effect

Vermont Senate Bill 247 officially took effect Tuesday, making several improvements to the state’s medical cannabis program.pelleylawgroup Those improvements include removing a limit of 1,000 patients per dispensary, legalizing the distribution of medical cannabis via delivery and authorizing a study to determine whether post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) should be added as a condition that qualifies someone to become a medical cannabis patient.

Senate Bill 247 also allows naturopaths to give recommendations for medical cannabis. Another change removes a restriction requiring people to stay with the same physician at least 6 months to receive a medical cannabis recommendation from them.
