Bill to Legalize Medical Cannabis Approved Unanimously by Missouri House Committee

Missouri’s Housemedcen Select Committee on General Laws has unanimously approved a bill to legalize cannabis for medical purposes. The measure has already been passed by the House Committee on Emerging Issues, and now heads towards a full House vote.

If approved into law, House Bill 800 would legalize the possession and use of up to 30 grams of cannabis for those with debilitating conditions such as HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis and cancer. The proposal would establish a system of cultivation and production centers, which would provide state-licensed dispensaries with cannabis, which would then be distributed to qualified patients.
