New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has signed into law a bill that would allow medical cannabis to be legally administered to qualified adolescent patients while they’re attending school under certain circumstances.

The Medical Marijuana School Access Bill, which goes into effect immediately, requires schools and facilities that provide services to kids with disabilities to adopt policies to allow administration of non-smokable forms of medical cannabis to qualified patients while on school or facility ground.

New Jersey Assembly Approves Medical Cannabis Improvement Bill

A measurenewjersey to improve upon New Jersey’s medical cannabis program has passed the state’s Assembly with a 44 to 20 vote.

The proposal – ACR 224 – would add post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a condition that qualifies someone to become a legal medical cannabis patient. Currently nine states – Michigan, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Arizona and Oregon – allow the use of medical cannabis for the treatment of PTSD.
