Washington: Only 22% of Voters Believe Cannabis Legalization Has Had a Negative Effect

wapicSupport for cannabis legalization has increased among Washington voters since they approved Initiative 502 in 2012, and a vast majority feel that the change in law has been a positive one, according to a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey.

“[I]n 2012 Washingtonians voted to legalize marijuana usage by 12 points”, says Tom Jenson of PPP in a Wednesday press release. “Now voters in the state say they support marijuana being legal by 19 points, 56/37. 77% of voters say marijuana being legal has either had a positive impact on their life or no impact at all, with likewise only 22% claiming marijuana legalization has affected them negatively.”

Poll: More Than Six In Ten Connecticut Voters Say Legalize Cannabis

More thanusepicture six out of ten Connecticut voters favor legalizing marijuana use by adults, according to statewide polling conducted by Quinnipiac University.

Sixty-three percent of respondents said that they favored permitting adults to legally possess personal use quantities of cannabis. Only 34 percent of voters opposed this idea.

Millenials: 63% of Republicans, 77% of Democrats Support Legalizing Cannabis, Finds Poll

New polling releasedsaginawgrossepointe by Pew Research has found strong nationwide support for legalizing cannabis, especially among millenials (those born between 1981 and 1996).

According to the poll, 63% of Republican millenials believe that cannabis should be made legal. Support is even higher among Democrats, at 77%.

Strong support was also found in both parties among those that fall into the “Gen X” category (born between 1965 and 1980). Although Republican support is below 50%, its not far off far off at 47%. For Democrats, support is at a sturdy 61%.
