New Legislation to Legalize Medical Cannabis to be Filed Soon in Wisconsin

Senator Jon Erpenbach and State Representative Chris Taylor plan to soon introduce companion bills aimed at legalizing medical cannabis in the State of Wisconsin. Although lawmakers in the state have rejected similar pMedical Marijuanaroposals in the past, the two remain optimistic that the change will be accepted in time.

“It’s really a situation where the Legislature is behind the general public,”  says Julie Laundrie, spokesperson for Senator Erpenbach. “Things will evolve and change here.”

Wisconsin Medical Cannabis Legalization Measure Announced

State Representative Chris Taylor and Senator Jon Erpenbach have announced that they’re working on legislation to legalize medical cannabis, which they plan to have filed in the upcoming fall legislative session. marijuanawisconsin

Under the soon-to-be-filed legislation, authorized patients would be allowed to possess up to 3 ounces of cannabis, and cultivate up to 10 plants. State-licensed “compassionate care centers” would be authorized to distribute cannabis to patients.
