New Hampshire House Committee Advances Proposal to Legalize Recreational Cannabis

The New Hampshire House Ways and Means Committee has advanced House Bill 492, a proposal to legalize nhcannarecreational cannabis, to the full House.

The proposed law – which passed the House in January but was sent back to committee to rework the bill’s tax system – would legalize the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis, and would legalize state-licensed cannabis retail outlets to distribute cannabis to those 21 and older.

New Hampshire House To Vote January 8th On Cannabis Legalization

New Hampshire’s House of Representatives will vote soon on a proposal to legalize the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis for recreational use for those 21 andnewhampshire older. House Bill 492 has been scheduled for a vote on January 8th.

Under the proposed law, the the cultivation of up to 6 cannabis plants will be legalized, as will the possession of up to an ounce. In addition, state-licensed retail outlets will be authorized to distribute cannabis. The proposal is heavily influenced by Amendment 64, which Colorado voters approved in 2012.
