New Hampshire to Begin Issuing Medical Cannabis Cards Tomorrow

newhampshireStarting tomorrow, December 28th, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will begin issuing the first round of medical cannabis ID cards to qualified patients. This card will allow patients to legally possess and use medical cannabis; it also allows them to purchase medical cannabis from a dispensary (including Maine dispensaries)

“As we begin to issue registry identification cards to qualifying patients who want them, we look forward to those patients being able to access therapeutic cannabis at dispensaries in New Hampshire,” said the Department in a recent press release. “The ATCs [Alternative Treatment Centers] are moving quickly to open their dispensaries and we anticipate that the first dispensaries will open in Spring 2016. We thank the Attorney General’s Office for its consultation.”

Senators Push Feds to Ease Restrictions on Cannabis Research

purpleplantSen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) wants to make it easier for government-paid researchers to study marijuana – and not just its negative side effects.

Eight Democratic senators, led by Warren, are urging federal health and drug officials to address the “data shortfall” on potential health benefits of medical marijuana by making it easier for researchers to study the drug.
