A Canadian college in the Atlantic province of New Brunswick has announced plans to institute a program on the cultivation of cannabis, designed to help students get a job with a company that produces the medicine.

The program will launch next year at the French-language College Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick, according Michel Doucet, executive director of continuing education and customized learning.

The announcement comes several months after the country elected Justin Trudeau, who campaigned on a platform of legalizing cannabis and says legislation will be introduced in the spring, as Prime Minister. Medical marijuana is already legal across Canada, though the number of companies in the industry is relatively small at the moment.
