Introducing CBD Crystalline, Coming in at 99% CBD

In recent weeks THC-A crystalline has been all the rage, and for good reason; it is one of the purest forms of THC available at 99.99% THC. This is achieved using no chemical additives. Now, cannabidiol’s (CBD) equivalent has hit the market, and it has the potential to be a game-changer.

When reduced to its purest form, CBD, just like THC, is isolated to a natural crystalline structure. Macro image of CBD Crystalline. (Photo: Allie Beckett)

For those unaware, CBD is a compound found in cannabis that doesn’t have a psychoactive effect such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabis products and even strains that are low in THC and high in CBD have gained popularity in recent years; they’re perfect for children and for those who simply don’t want the “high” typically associated with cannabis.

CBD crystalline is the natural evolution of this. With a purity of 99%, it’s the purest form of CBD currently available.

Study: Cannabinoids May Treat Chronic Inflammation

Cannabinoids may provide a treatment option for chronic inflammation, according to a new study published in the FASEB Journal, and published online by the U.S. National Institute of Health.

flower-power-2“Cannabinoids apparently act on inflammation through mechanisms different from those of agents such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)”, states the study’s abstract. “As a class, the cannabinoids are generally free from the adverse effects associated with NSAIDs. Their clinical development thus provides a new approach to treatment of diseases characterized by acute and chronic inflammation and fibrosis.”

For the study, a “concise survey of the anti-inflammatory actions of the phytocannabinoids Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol, cannabichromene, and cannabinol” is presented.

Study: Cannabis an Effective Medicine in Early and Late Stage Dementia

dementiaA new study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease has found that cannabis is not only an effective medicine in the early stages of dementia, it’s also effective in its late stages.

“Previous reports have demonstrated that the combination of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) botanical extracts, which are the components of an already approved cannabis-based medicine, reduce the Alzheimer-like phenotype of AβPP/PS1 transgenic mice when chronically administered during the early symptomatic stage”, begins the study’s abstract. “Here, we provide evidence that such natural cannabinoids are still effective in reducing memory impairment in AβPP/PS1 mice at advanced stages of the disease”.

High Times Rates Michigan As #1 Place For CBD Production

By Rick Thompson

michiganOf all the chemicals that make up the cannabis plant, cannabidiol, or CBD, is typically viewed as the most beneficial to human health. Some states allow only CBD-based medical marijuana products to be legally consumed by their patients. In a recent article titled, “The Strongest Strains on Earth 2016,” High Times Magazine detailed the top CBD strains tested in their competitions, and three of the top four strains came from one place.

High Times is the cannabis industry’s leading publication, and their growing gurus include Danny Danko and Nico Escondido. High Times also conducts a series of Cannabis Cups- a competition for cannabis strains where testing results combine with human feedback to determine the best of the best in multiple categories, in each competition.

CBD (Cannabidiol) In Marijuana

cannabidiolBy Robert Bergman,

CBD is an abbreviation for Cannabidiol, and it is a very potent phytochemical found inside the female cannabis plants. It is one of over 60 healing compounds found in the marijuana plant. This chemical, like THC, is also a cannabinoid that attaches to receptors on your body’s cells. They work to create a more enhanced endocannabinoid system. Because CBD and THC are so prevalent in marijuana plants, they are also studied very frequently.

CBD hasn’t received much attention over the years by the medical industry, or anyone for that matter, due to marijuana becoming so popular for the psychedelic journey it takes you on. Needless to say, THC in marijuana stole the show.

New Study: CBD Prevents and Reverses Antipsychotic-Induced Catalepsy

New research published by the U.S. National Institute of Health, and published in-print by the journal Behavioural Brain Research, has foundbigstock-marijuana-12446021-300x200 that cannabidiol can attenuate catalepsy induced by haloperidol, and can prevent it if taken prior to the use of haloperidol.

Catalepsy is a trancelike state marked by loss of voluntary motion, sensations and consciousness accompanied by rigidity of the body, and haloperidol is an antipsychotic used to treat certain medical conditions such as Tourette syndrome and bipolar disorder.

“Given that CBD reduces psychotic symptoms without inducing extrapyramidal motor side-effects in animal models and schizophrenia patients, it has been proposed to act as an atypical antipsychotic”, states the study’s abstract. “In addition, CBD reduced catalepsy induced by drugs with distinct pharmacological mechanisms, including the typical antipsychotic haloperidol”

Study: Cannabinoids Limit Neuroblastoma Cancer Cells

purplecannabisBoth THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) limit neuroblastoma cell proliferation, according to a new study published in the journal Current Oncology, and published online by the U.S. National Institute of Health. Neuroblastoma is an aggressive cancer often found in the small glands on top of the kidneys, though it can also develop in the chest, pelvis, neck, stomach, and bones. Children ages five and younger are most commonly affected.

For the study researchers found that although both THC and CBD helped fight off neuroblastoma cells, CBD was more effective in doing so.

The administration of cannabis oil extracts high in cannabidiol reduces seizure frequency in children with intractable epilepsy, according to clinical data published online ahead of print in the journal Seizure.

Israeli researchers retrospectively evaluated the effects of CBD oil in a multicenter cohort of 74 patients with intractable epilepsy. Participants in the trial were resistant to conventional epilepsy treatment and were treated with CBD extracts for a period of at least three months. Extracts in the study were provided by a pair of Israeli-licensed growers and were standardized to possess a CBD to THC ratio of 20 to 1.

DEA Eases Requirements for Clinical Trials on Cannabidiol

cbdThe United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has announced in a press release sent today that they’ve eased some of the regulatory requirements imposed by the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) for those who are conducting FDA-approved clinical trials on cannabidiol (CBD), an extract of the cannabis plant.  These modifications will streamline the research process regarding CBD’s possible medicinal value and help foster ongoing scientific studies. The DEA notified affected researchers by letter of the changes, which take effect immediately.

“Federal Regulation (21 CFR 1301.18) requires researchers conducting CBD-based clinical trials under an FDA Investigational New Drug Application to have a DEA research registration”, the DEA states in their press release. “This registration permits the possession of an approved amount of CBD for a specific research protocol.  Prior to now, researchers who expanded the scope of their studies and needed more CBD than initially approved for had to request, in writing, a modification to their DEA research registrations – potentially delaying that research while the modification underwent an approval process that includes both the DEA and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).”

Industrial Hemp CBD VS. Medical Marijuana CBD

By Discover CBD

cbdWe have all seen the recent news articles showcasing CBD oil and many of us would like to get involved… but where do you start?  In the event you didn’t already know, there are two sources for CBD oil and other CBD/Cannabidiol products: 1.)  Hemp CBD products made from industrial hemp and 2.) Medical marijuana CBD products derived from medical marijuana.  One is available widely online from sites like and the other is available at medical marijuana dispensaries across the US in states where medical marijuana is legal.

We recognized the need for an article focused on providing the cannabidiol buyer with an objective, unbiased look at buying cannabidiol in today’s market.  If you find yourself asking the question which is better, CBD oil from hemp or CBD oil from medical marijuana, this is a must read for you.
