Study: Hemp Seeds Can Treat and Prevent High Blood Pressure
A widely unpublicized study published in the European Journal of Nutrition shows that hemp seeds may not only treat hypertension (high blood pressure), they may have the ability to prevent it as well.
“This work determined the ability of hemp seed meal protein hydrolysate (HMH)-containing diets to attenuate elevated blood pressure (hypertension) development in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs)”, states the study’s abstract.
According to researchers; “The results suggest that HMH with strong hypotensive effects in SHRs could be used as a therapeutic agent for both the prevention and treatment of hypertension.”
The study, which can be found by clicking here, was conducted at the University of Manitoba, and received funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
