Study: 49% of Those Visiting Colorado Last Year Had Their Decision Influenced by Cannabis Being Legal

coloradoA new study commissioned by the Colorado Tourism Office has found that almost half of those visiting Colorado from another state last year had their decision to choose Colorado as a travel destination influenced by the fact that cannabis is legal.

For the study, Strategic Marketing and Research Insights conducted a 33-question survey on 3,254 tourists from key markets such as Chicago, Dallas and San Diego, and found that 49% of those traveling to Colorado were motivated to go due to cannabis’ legal status. 22% of those surveyed said that cannabis being legal was “extremely influential” in their decision to visit the state.

According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, there is over $100 million in legal cannabis being sold each month.
