Romania Legalizes Medical Cannabis

Medical cannabis is now officially legal for qualifying patients in Romania, the 10th country in the European Union to do so.romania

Under the new law, the nation’s Drug Agency is authorized to approve producers who wish to release cannabis-based medical products on the market (anything from cannabis tinctures to sprays), which would be sold through pharmacies, according to Romania Insider.

No specific medical condition is required for a patient to purchase these products; it will be up to the individual’s physician on whether or not they will prescribe it to them.

Romania was the 2nd nation last week to make big changes to their cannabis policies, with Switzerland recently decriminalizing the possession of small amounts.
