Proposal to Legalize Cannabis Filed in Georgia Senate

eorgia State Senator Curt Thompson has filed a constitutional amendment aimed at legalizing recreational cannabis for everyone 21 and older.
Senate Resolution 6 will be considered by the state’a Legislature when it reconvenes on January 12th. If approved by lawmakers, it will be placed on the ballot to be voted on by the people before becoming law.
The proposal would legalize the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis for those 21 and older, while also authorizing state-licensed cannabis retail outlets.
Senator Thompson filed another bill, Senate Bill 7, which would legalize medical cannabis for those with a debilitating condition such as cancer, glaucoma or HIV/AIDS.

I am a cancer victim. I praise God for you doing this bill. I have thought that I was going to have to leave my home, family and all else I dearly love to move to a strange state all alone. I’m pushing 60, and it’s very scary to face leaving everything just to stay alive. I have declined the chemotherapy and radiation. I’m sure it would probably kill me before the cancer will. I’ve done much studying for anything else that can help cancer. Cannabis oils reduce the tumors and that’s in a government test study that was hidden from the people. I have read many studies and they all have been proven by scientists and research. My family is behind me in my decision to not take chemotherapy. It’s killed out my family. I am suddenly the old folk of the family since chemotherapy killed them before cancer did. So my family backs my decision. I didn’t want to leave everything at a time when I will need them the most. This bill will allow me to stay home and not sell it and move away from my family. They have promised to find the attorneys to help me in case I decided to bring it back home and take cannabis treatment in my own home. They realize that Georgia laws actually mean that it’s illegal to cure cancer in Georgia. You are supposed to move out of the state or give up and die. I choose to live and not die. I’m not a drug user and just an older woman who has cancer. I’m allergic to narcotics and pain medication. Georgia expects me to stay in great cancer pain and not use what does help. Our state laws are so messed up. I’m having to explain to grandkids why I am forced to leave the state and forced to leave the people who love me. It’s just our state government that is wrong and that they don’t care about the people of the state. They understand that the state would let me die in prison for only trying to save my life. They will be voting in another 6 or 7 years. I know how they will vote. My family have careers and can’t pick up and leave. They don’t want their elderly mother to leave the state when I will need them. They don’t want an elderly mother to be all alone in a strange state. They worry about me. So yes, they are encouraging me to break the state laws and go on living. They have studied about this also and realized that it actually cures cancer. This state encourages death and chemical drugs. No matter what people go to the doctor for, they are all prescribing something that is very much like methamphetamine drugs. My daughter called the doctor and told him to stop prescribing a legal meth drug. Whether it is sore muscles or allergies, or sciatica nerve pain, but legal meth is being prescribed by doctors because they don’t have a safer choice available in Georgia. No wonder the state of Georgia has been turned in to a meth heads state. The entire state is so eat up with methamphetamine use. That is definitely a deadly drug. Georgia lawmakers don’t want the people to live. They want the people dead. I believe this. I’m an old woman who has cancer and my state believes I should either take chemotherapy and die or not take anything and die. But if I want to live and cure cancer, I have to leave the state. It’s illegal to live in the state of Georgia. The war against cannabis turned Georgia into a meth heads state. This state is eat up with meth use. No wonder since the doctors can only prescribe what the state says. So because of pain pills and narcotics addiction, they prescribe the methamphetamine like drugs. My daughter doesn’t want me to become addicted to the methamphetamine like drugs since I am not used to taking any kind of pills. My system is delicate and I can’t take the drugs for pain that other people can. The allergic reaction would kill me first. This is why I will use cannabis. I know my bible and I have read the 30 something verses that I fully believe reference cannabis. It’s against the law to just live in the state of Georgia. You can not convince my grandkids that I belong in prison for trying to save my life and die in prison when I have never broken the laws and have not yet done illegal drugs. This law will mean that I don’t have to break the law. I have never been in any trouble and I used to be a cop. Grandkids cannot understand why the state of Georgia thinks that I belong in prison with rapist and murderers when I have done nothing wrong. They don’t want me to stay alive in Georgia. Georgia has 40,000 people diagnosed with cancer each year and the state spends approximately 11,000 dollars on each cancer patient every year. It would save billions of dollars in Georgia each and every year in Georgia with the bill. We’re all republican but we all realize that governor Deal would rather have the people just give up and die. He’s voted against the 7,000 small children diagnosed with seizures every year in Georgia. He even expects parents to just watch their babies and children die because they are going to prison for trying to save a child’s life . Shameless the government is in Georgia. I have not broke the laws yet. But I plan to stay alive and not die. Chemotherapy killed my family and not the cancer. It’s not going to kill me. I have declined it. I’m hoping that the state changes the laws so I won’t have to move away from home and family or break the law. But it needs to hurry. Please encourage the other lawmakers to support the bill. We know that the governor doesn’t care about the people.

I been a legal mmj patient and caregiver in Colo. since 2000 when the VA said I had stage 4 cancer (nam vet sprayed with agent orange). they told me do chemo and radiation or be dead within 6 months. I got a SECOND OPINION from my Civilian MD. He recommended cannabis. I researched online how to make thc oil and how to extract it (today it is called phoenix tears Rich Simpsons oil) A year later went back into VA for yearly physical. ^ hours of probing, vampirism, mri’s cat scans and x-rays. A week later get a call to come in NO APPOINTMENT hmmmm had me wondering it came back. The DRS couldn’t believe I was CANCER-FREE no remissions and asked how could this be no chemo and radiation. I told em and they said no way if we ua u and it comes back positive we will cut u off man-made addiciting killing side-effect dope. I told em I don’t need valium percettes oxys or vicidin since my edibles, tinctures, herb and salve takes care of ALL my problems with NO SIDE-EFFECTS.
