Proposal Introduced in West Virginia to Legalize Medical Cannabis

A proposal was introduced today in the West Virgina Legislature which would legalize the medical use of cannabis. Under this proposed law, the possessionmedicalcannabissymbol of up to 6 ounces of cannabis, and the personal cultivation of up to 12 cannabis plants, would be legal for qualifying patients; those who don’t wish to grow their own could purchase cannabis through a nonprofit, state-licensed dispensary (or “compassion centers”, as this measure puts it).

Delegate Mike Manypenny, the prime sponsor of the proposal, stated recently that he’s confident public feedback could lead to the proposal moving forward, and potentially even being approved into law; those wishing to follow Delegate Manypenny’s advice should look up their district’s lawmakers by clicking here, and urge them to support the legalization of medical cannabis.
