According to new polling conducted by Marquette Law School, a strong majority of voters in Wisconsin support legalizing cannabis and regulating it similarly to alcohol.
The poll asked the following question: “When it comes to marijuana, some people think that the drug should be fully legalized and regulated like alcohol. Do you agree or disagree with that view?”
59% stated they agree, with 39% opposed; just 2% remain undecided.
The numbers are a huge shift from a poll released by the same college in September, 2014, which found 46% to be in favor of legalization (a 15% increase in less than two years).
The Marquette Law School Poll was conducted between July 7th and-July 10th and has a margin of error of +/- 4.1%.
