Maryland Senate Committee Approves Medical Cannabis Legalization Proposal

Maryland’s Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee gave approval today to House Bill 1321, ammjplant proposal to legalize medical cannabis. The measure was passed by the state’s House of Representatives last week in an 127 to 9 vote.

If approved into law, House Bill 1321 would legalize medical cannabis for those with a qualifying condition such as cancer, post traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain, and would establish as many as 100 dispensaries throughout the state to distribute the medicine.

The committee amended the proposal to remove a restriction set by the House that would limit the number of state-licensed growers to just 10.

Earlier this month Maryland’s Senate approved a separate cannabis-related proposal which would remove criminal penalties for the possession of up to 10 grams.

This is wrong! I grant you we’re headed in the right direction but this falls way short!

The only acceptable answer is to Legalize it 100%!. Patient’s and responsible adults should have equal legal access!
