Initiative to Legalize Cannabis Placed on November’s Ballot in Berkley, Michigan
If approved by voters this November 4th, the initiative will legalize the possession, use and transfer of up to an ounce of cannabis for adults 21 and older. Similar initiative have been approved in the Michigan cities of Detroit, Lansing, Ferndale, Jackson, Flint and Grand Rapids.
Signatures have also been submitted this year for legalization initiatives in a dozen other Michigan cities and a county, including Oak Park, Hazel Park, Utica, Lapeer, Port Huron, Onaway, Harrison Township, East Lansing, Clare, Saginaw, Mount Pleasant and Benzie County.
“Berkley is another community in Michigan that’s going to be liberating itself come November”, Beck tells us. “We look forward to at least a dozen other cities doing the same.”
The Safer Michigan Coalition is continuing to collect signatures in the cities of Portage, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Grosse Point Park and Montrose.
