Florida House Approves Medical Cannabis Measure, Governor Announces His Support

Florida’s House of Representatives has voted 111 to 7 in favor of Senate Bill 1030, a measure to legalize medical cannabis extracts. The proposal was approved by the Senate on Thursday with a 36 to 3 vote.florida

After the super-majority vote in favor of the measure in the House, Florida Governor Rick Scott announced that if the measure gets to his desk, he’ll sign it into law, an announcement that surprised many given his staunch anti-cannabis opinions. Senate Bill 1030 was altered slightly in the House, so it will be up for one more Senate vote – expected Friday – before heading to Governor Scott.

Once signed into law, Senate Bill 1030 will allow those in the state who receive a recommendation from a physician to legally possess and use low-THC cannabis extracts (such as oils, tinctures and teas) for medical purposes.

Knowing Florida Politicians and Gov. Scott, the medicinal bill that Gov. Scott is going to sign is just to try and derail the full blown medicinal use of cannabis that is on the ballot this coming November 4th in FLORIDA. The bill just passed is for a LIMITED number of diseases and only ONE strain of cannabis. Though it is a start, it falls way short for thousands of others. Don’t be fooled by this and make sure you get out November 4th and vote on the bill that will help those with other diseases! VOTE YES ON 2.

Right On. This bill is NOT a medical marijuana bill. No wonder it sailed through the FL legislature. It is too easy. It is unlikely that CBD will do much of anything. It will likely be about as effective as all the pharmaceuticals Floridians consume. You should NOT be happy about this!!! Your governor wanted state aid recipients piss tested, and then SCOTUS said no to that. Your governor owns his own pee testing company, and this law, which would have affected thousands of Floridians, would have lined his pockets.
The big day for you is November 4th. That is the real medical marijuana bill coming up. This CBD bill is nothing. Don’t live with it.
Furthermore, the CBD in question is from a specific strain of medical marijuana called “Charlotte’s Web”, named after a little girl in Colorado who received this low-THC strain for Darvet’s syndrome. So “Charlotte’s Web” came from a medical marijuana dispensary in Colorado! People in my state of Pennsylvania have moved to Colorado to get it.

This is a scam to legalize nothing! They are trying to get the pharmaceutical companies everything. Making a big deal so they can say they are in favor so people get wrong information and don’t vote!

Good to have political progress in the positive but…….This is a political move and the only good is for the politicians career. This bill still forces the people ( a very limited group reminds me of the “The Compassionate Investigational New Drug program; a United States Federal Government-run Investigational New Drug program; that allows a limited number of patients to use medical marijuana grown at the University of Mississippi.”) to purchase a pharmaceutical (plant turned man made on commercial scale is pharmaceutical to me) from a company and only in an oil form (how do you know what is in the oil).
Remember cannabis like most natural remedy plants works best with all the properties together and when used in MODERATION and responsibility.
