S’more Please: Recipe for Cannabis-Infused Marshmallows
By Keira Fae, Marijuana.com
Hi! Keira from Ambrosia here with another delicious cannabis treat! Today we’re going to learn how to make Marshmellows, cannabis-infused marshmallows. When it comes to classic sweets, few things compete with the beloved marshmallow. Whether you’re making s’mores around a campfire, whipping up rice krispies in the kitchen, or snuggling up with a cup of hot cocoa on the couch, these cannabis-infused marshmallows are sure to enhance your experience.
As always, we’ll need to grab a few things before we get started. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 tablespoons gelatin (2 Knox envelopes)
- 1 cup cold water, divided
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons infused Ghee
- Metal bowl
- Rubber spatula
- Cookie cutter
- Cutting board
Step 1: Soak the Gelatin
Combine the gelatin with ½ cup of cold water. We’re going to let the gelatin soak for a bit.
Step 2: Syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine ½ cup of water with the 2 cups of granulated sugar, and cook over a medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Once your sugar is fully dissolved, bring the heat to medium-high until the mixture begins to boil. Once our syrup mixture begins to boil, remove from heat.
Add in the salt, vanilla extract, and of course the Ghee.
Step 3: Whisk Away
Transfer the syrup mixture into the bowl of gelatin and whisk away. If you have an electric whisk, whisk on low for 2 minutes. If you’re whisking by hand, whisk for 5 minutes. This process will help the mixture cool.
Step 4: Really, Really Whisk Away
Alright, now that our mixture has cooled down and your arm has warmed up, it’s time to really wisk. Turn your electric whisk up to full speed for 10 minutes, or if you’re whisking by hand, whisk faster with all you have for 15 minutes (take breaks if needed). By the end your mixture will be puffy, thick, and creamy.
Step 5: Sugar Coating
Now that our mixture is fully fluffed, it’s time to powder. Pour the mixture into a bowl coated with powdered sugar. The powder sugar will keep the marshmallow from sticking to everything. As our marshmallow mixture is cooling, grab a cutting board and cover it with a thin layer of powdered sugar. This stuff is extremely sticky, so be careful not to get any on you, for you may never get it off!
Once it’s laid out flat on your powdered sugar covered cutting board, use your cookie cutter to cut out your desired marshmallow shapes.
Step 6: Mellow Out
Well, what do you know? Looks like you’ve got some delicious Cannabis-infused Marshmallows on your hands! Grab some chocolate bars and graham cracks, huddle around a campfire, and enjoy some s’mores. However you want to enjoy this classic treat with a canna-twist is entirely up to you!
