10 Cannabis World Records That Will Trip You Out

At Custom Cones USA, we love all things cannabis, so we keep tabs on the most interesting cannabis world records. We have to give props to people for having goals. They set the precedent for everyone else. We didn’t know the four-minute mile was possible until Englishman Roger Bannister did it in 1954.

Just like we didn’t know it was possible to smoke more than 100,000 joints in a lifetime until Irvin Rosenfeld accomplished that feat a few years ago (for Irvin’s sake, we hope some of those joints were made with our pre-rolled cones). Or that the largest blunt ever rolled could keep most people stoned for a decade or more – this I can attest was not one of our hemps wrap blunt cones.

Cannabis World Records

And so behold this impressive list of cannabis world records; no one can ever again say that pot smokers lack motivation. The proof is in the numbers.

#1: The Largest Producer of Cannabis (Country)

On March 31, 2010, Afghanistan set the world record – and this is actually in the Guinness Book of World Records – for being the largest producer of cannabis by country. The numbers came in at 3,850 tons of cannabis! That’s 7,700,000 pounds of cheeba.

#2: The Most Joints Smoked By a Single Person

Also documented in the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records, the current record for the most joints smoked by a single person is held by Irvin Rosenfeld. In his lifetime, he has apparently documented the smoking of 115,000 joints. It’s just amazing that he had the foresight to pursue this goal; most pot smokers would’ve definitely lost track.

#3: Largest Blunt

As of 2017, the record for the largest blunt ever rolled (and then smoked, of course) is five pounds, which could come out to several thousand dollars. Known as the “Bazooka Blunt,” the blunt took the form of a rocket launcher and was revealed at the 10th-year-anniversary party for Herbal Remedies Dispensary in L.A. It apparently took four hours to smoke.

#4: Most Expensive Strain

Apparently, the most expensive strain ever produced is Loud Dream, a very rare hybrid of Blue Dream. Coming in at 26 to 28 percent THC, an ounce of Loud Dream can go for around $800.

#5: Most Expensive Joint Ever Rolled

A luxury joint that was unveiled in 2018 at a party hosted by Stone Road Farms to celebrate recreational cannabis legalization in California was auctioned for $24,000. It weighed 1.5 pounds, was 30 inches long, and contained premium flower, bubble hash, and solventless concentrate. Oh: And it was rolled with 24-karat gold rolling papers. Luxurious indeed.

#6: Most Expensive Seeds

A single pack of seeds of the Fruity Pebbles strain, a cross between Granddaddy Purple, Tahoe Alien, and Green Ribbon, is said to have sold for $1,000 to $1,500 in 2012. Its flower has a technicolor look that resembles no other kind of flower out there.

#7: Largest Dab Ever Smoked

In 2015, Dab Stars, a leader in the concentrates industry, broke the world record for the largest dab ever smoked, which had been previously recorded at just 90 grams. They broke the record with flying colors; their dab was just over 400 grams.

#8: Largest Hotbox

In 2016 in Barcelona, Spain, a group of eager stoners set the world record for the largest hotbox ever with 800 grams of dab. In just a few seconds, an entire room went up in smoke quite literally. Watch the video. It’s quite a decadent, definitely wasteful, event.

#9: Strongest Strain Ever Grown

The world record for the strongest strain ever grown is said to belong to the Chiquita Banana strain, a hybrid that is a cross between OG Kush and Banana. It has been measured at more than 33 percent THC.

#10: Longest Joint Ever Rolled

The record for the longest joint ever rolled was made at the 2017 Harvest Cup in Worcester, Massachusetts. In the end, it took about 40 people to roll one thousand grams of weed into a 100-foot-long joint. Did it look smokable? Not really. But it’s the thought that counts, right?
