Voters in Toledo, Ohio Overwhelmingly Legalize Cannabis
Toledo, Ohio.
Voters in Toledo, the fourth most populous city in Ohio, have voted to legalize the possession of over seven ounces of cannabis, while reducing penalties for larger possession offenses.
During a vote on Tuesday, September 15th, voters in Toledo gave approval to the Sensible Marijuana Ordinance with a 70% to 30% vote. The measure removes all criminal penalties for the possession of up to 200 grams of cannabis, while also prohibiting asset forfeitures and driver’s license suspensions for cannabis violations.
“This is certainly a historic moment in the state and even in the country”, says Sean Nestor who led the successful legalization campaign. “We do expect there to be challenges and we are prepared to meet them with the full political and legal force we can muster.”
Nestor adds that; “I do think what we have is pretty potent as far as protecting cannabis users. We feel this is important even on a national scale.”
The proposal was supported by the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the National Organization of Women Representatives.
The exact final vote was 11,261 (70.13%) YES, to 4,797 (29.87%) NO.

I think u r doing a great job to make cannabis legal of course Indiana will probably be the last state to legalize it they don’t realize the good things it could do for our state maybe some day!!!

It says nothing about people having the right to grow. Kind of odd. So you can possess it but you can’t grow it? This doesn’t make any sense. Still a step in the right direction.
