Veterinarian Administers Medical Marijuana to Dogs, Says it Works Wonders

medical marijuana dogs

Dr. Kramer administering cannabis tincture to a dog with late-stage cancer.

Veterinarian Doug Kramer considers his work to be “enlightened”, even naming his clinic the Enlightened Veterinary Therapeutics. When hearing about his out-of-the-box methodology, it’s hard to argue.

Dr. Kramer administers medical marijuana to dogs, especially those with late-stage cancer. He does so in his clinic, and is undeniably vocal about it. He’s not hiding what he’s doing, and instead is making sure to spread the word as far and wide as he can.

In an article published recently on Dogster.com, one of the largest dog sites in the world, Kramer states, regarding the decision to go against the law:

“The decision was an easy one for me to make…I refuse to condemn my patients to a miserable existence for self preservation or concerns about what may or may not happen to me as a consequence of my actions. My freedom of speech is clearly protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. This is an issue of animal welfare, plain and simple. Remaining silent would represent a clear violation of the veterinarian’s oath I took when I was admitted into this profession.”

Certainly noble.

Delta Extrax

On his website, Dr. Kramer notes that; “Overwhelming documented and empirical evidence suggests that there is a role for medicinal marijuana in veterinary medicine…In many, many scientific studies, THC and its synthetic derivatives have been shown to be effective in most animal models of pain.”

Dr. Kramer, who’s the first veterinarian in the country to (at least openly) administer medical cannabis to dogs, is not a medical cannabis patient himself. His venture started when his dog, Nikkita, was diagnosed with cancer. This led to Dr. Kramer studying recent cannabis research, which pushed him to create a homemade cannabis tincture, which he administered to her.

Dr. Kramer, who spoke with us briefly, states; “It restored her appetite, made her lively again. It was a complete turnaround and she got to live her final days in a much better way.”

After Nikita’s death, Dr. Kramer felt bound to continue harnessing cannabis as a medicine so that he could help other dogs with terminal diseases that may benefit from it. This led to him opening Enlightened Veterinary Therapeutics, which specializes in palliative and hospice care, and is the first and only clinic in the country to offer cannabis consultations as a pet treatment plan.

In summary, Dr. Kramer hopes that his message spreads, and that we change our laws to enable doctors and others to truly study and recognize the vast benefits that medical cannabis can bring, whether you’re a human, or a dog.

      David,
i run a 501c3 in Phoenix and am a medical marijuana user.
i would be really grateful for any information you could give me on this subject.
I have a 5 month old puppy suffering horribly right now with tremors from we don’t know what but she doesn’t sleep much and the pain meds the vet gave seem to make it worse. I was just researching hemp oil as an aid.

I have been using a concentrated cannabis oil on my dogs for years. It started after the first corizone shot for hot spots on my Lab. How could I submit him to this. I rubbed some of the oil on and that was the end of the hot spot problem. Its been 5 years and no problem. We successfully used the oil on an ear infection as well. Our other dog had a compressed spine and torn ligament in his knee when we rescued him. Several surgeries were in his future. We applied the oil to his knee daily and the ligament healed and repaired without surgery. We have been applying it to his spine so he can walk. We keep some oil in his reach and when he is in pain, and can barely walk he will lick up some for self medication. As you can not overdose he is free to relieve his pain as he chooses. It works the same for humans, and is genocide on this planet to remove this nutrient from us.

My 7 year old Pit bull Was diagnosed with Lymphoma about 6 months ago. I was not interested in chemo due to side effects. I have been using cannabis oil at small dosages for almost 3 months now with great success. My dog gets a treat nightly with cannabis oil the size of the head of a thumb tack. he has since increased appetite and energy levels. though he does still cough from time to time after running in circles, his golf ball like lymphoma has shrunken in size and is now soft rather than hard as before treatment. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Could this help with a old doggie with Cushings. How much would you give a 21# dog.Where is this vet. office at, Why aren’t their more.? She only sleeps 2-4 hrs at a time.Always wondering around.Always hungry, drinking. putting a toll on her heart., panting, coughing.Used herbal blends, but sure this would help, if i knew how to use it. I’m sadly watching my pal get not any better. Why can’t we help our pets out more with something that also help humans with out so much side effects..This is very stressful, people just done understand this awful disease & how it effects our poor pets.Vet meds are so expensive, they make pet worse, all the blood test, & what do you get out of this out come.Nothing .You may have 1-2 yrs. We need more choices,Now!

Google Rick Simpson to find instructions on how to make the oil. It’s a little scary (a fire extinguisher close at hand is a must and it needs to be done outside, a good distance away from buildings you want to keep), and requires you to source and purchase a large amount of what remains an illegal substance in many places. Glad to see some forward thinking vets. Mine still gives me the “cannabis toxicity” myth as facts.

My 9 year old lab mix has had epilepsy since he was 3 and was on phenobarbitol for 3 years. It didn’t help him. My nephew moved in and dog was always in the room when smoking daily. He went from having several a month to 1 to 2 a year. After he moved out, dog was only around it occasionally and started having cluster seizures of 4 in 24 hours every 12 weeks. Well, eventually he was no longer around it any more and he almost immediately started having the clusters of up to 7 in 24 hours every 2 weeks. Needless to say he is back to getting it again and so far 3 weeks and no seizures.

there are different concentrations of cannabis that can be used for minor, to chronic, to critical ailments.

the so-called rick simpson oil, or phoenix tears (known as honey oil by smokers, his innovation was to eat it), is a very strong extraction that is used for very serious problems like cancer – it is potent medicine that needs to be used carefully because of its psychoactive effect (stone, high) which is only a problem if the person or animal doesn’t like it and thus won’t tolerate it – however, even high concentrations are not dangerous, they mostly induce sleep.

for less serious problems, an infused oil using bud, trim, or leaf (bud has the most concentration of cannabinoids – thc, cbd, etc) – you can also make salves and creams with it.

the victoria cannabis buyers club has recipes for making edibles and topicals http://v-cbc.ca/Publications/recipe-book/

ps to understand how the phytocannabinoids from the cannabis (marijuana) plant do their magic, check out the endocannabinoid system we all have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axqa4h6BNSg and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endocannabinoid_system

I have a four year old Aussie that is on 4 anti seizure meds. One of which phenobarbital. If you can find a CVS pharmacy in your area, they only charge 11.99 for 64.8mg. That is pretty cheap for 90 pills! Good luck

My German shepherd mix that is almost 10 yrs old and around 60 lbs was diagnosed with late stage lymphoma on June 30th and the vet said that she only has a few months left 🙁 her lymph nodes everywhere are swollen to the six if golf balls, she has trouble breathing, she’s weak and tires easily, and doesnt have much of an appetite and also has diarrhea. Her belly is bloated and shes lost weight. The vet put her on prednisone and said she has to take it for the rest of her life. I’m desperate to help her and want to try the Rick Simpson oil but I’m scared and don’t know how much to give 🙁 please help me!

My german shepherd mix was diagnosed today. Same symptoms. He is 10. 100 lbs. I just ordered Canna Pet CBD capsules. Got the prednisone shot today at time of diagnosis. Seems to be perking up a little. I am praying this CBD stuff will help him. Says it works to kill the cancer and stop inflammation. Went to all protein diet. Chicken breasts, scrambled organic eggs (we raise laying hens) and sirloin (grilled to get rid of excess fat). Got the Taste of Wild Dog food, Bison and Venison. He hasn’t eaten that yet, but his appetite is so bad he wasn’t even wanting grilled sirloin much. The next few days will be crucial according to vet. I will try to update. Just didn’t want you to think you are alone.

I have a 6 yr old Bassador who has lymphoma. She was diagnosed in May and we started her on the oil right away. It seemed to help for a bit bbut later she stopped eating and had severe diarrhea. Despite my original feelings about chemo I decided to try it. It seemed to work miracles in the beginning, tumors shrunk to almost gone and her energy and appetite were up. I should also add she was on prednisone and pills for her liver, because she was anemic.

Now its the end of August and her tumors are back and huge, and she is not feeling well. She has had three roumds of chemo and now I am considering stopping the chemo and just upping her hemp oil dose.
Does anyone out there have any success with late stage lymphomas and hemp oil? I need to save my dog if there is any way humanly and humanely possible.

At 60# lb you should get your dog up to aprox. 1/4 gram split in 3 doses 8 hr apart start small like 1/2 a grain of instant rice add more every 4 days till you get to the1/4 gr. dose. Watch for overdosing your dog will sleep a lot at first but when it’s awake it’s ok if it’s a little wobbly watch for jerkie startled reactions and all around jumpy reactions to stimulation such as noise and touching them.just back off the dose for a day or to and start ramping up the dose good luck

Hi, my horse has penile scc, I had him on cancer internal herb powder, had his hair tested on radionics machine and from that received drops and pills, a whole of emotions came up grief fear etc, so he’s still on homeopathic medicine also essiac drops once a week, he gets lots of carrots paw paw and pineapple – I have someone who made canna salve which I put on growth as well as herbal cream for cancer and essential oil spray, he was also on essential oil internal mix, I put him on oil 2xdaily and would also every now and then put the pure oil on mixed with salve and then leave it for 4 days before cleaning, washed his sheath with a wash made with essential oils. The vet tied a rubber band as the chemo cream and inj were’nt working . It dropped off, vet gave him a shot with a different chemo inj and it seemed as though he was clear, now it’s back but is growing very slowly so I’m continuing to treat him and will give him another shot, it hasn’t spread – in horses they do keep on coming back.
My lAbbie has 2 growths so I have him on small dose in am, also not sure how much to give him but I’ve decided to rub the salve and cancer herbal cream on growths and to make green smoothies for him, Google green smoothies for pets, green smoothie revolution and Gerson diet. Will also have his hair tested and put him on drops pills, giving him cancer herb plant powder, started tonight. All the Best

I went for a routine mammogram at a breast clinic in Little Rock, Arkansas. The specialists there told me that I needed to come back for a second round of images, which didn’t faze me because I’ve had my left breast rechecked at every mammogram for the past three years. This time, the recheck was needed for the right breast.
After the second mammogram, I was told I needed an ultrasound. The technicians were having a hard time getting the image. The doctor came to look at the ultrasound images and was concerned about something he was seeing. He wanted me to have a biopsy. When the biopsy results came back, I got a call from my breast surgeon, who told me I had breast cancer.
The next step was a CT scan and a bone scan, followed by a talk with the breast surgeon about my treatment plan. He told me and my husband what kind of cancer I had and said I needed to schedule surgery. He gave us some options. The possible approaches for my treatment were either a lumpectomy with radiation and possibly chemotherapy, if the cancer was found in the lymph nodes, or a mastectomy with no additional treatment.
My husband looked at the doctor and looked at me, and he said, “We are not scheduling surgery.” He wanted to get a second opinion. I knew he meant it, and didn’t want to argue. But that was hard to hear because I was ready to get surgery.
I was caught up in my emotions, and am very glad that my husband stopped and said no. He felt I was being rushed into a decision and he knew where he wanted to go for a second opinion which is what he read on line about cannabis oil and how it works better, so he ordered for it on line via: ricksimpsoncancercenter@gmail.com, after using it everything was gone, am cancer free.

Marcia, you sound like an idiot. All you do is advocate giving dogs cbd. “Got a cough!? Give him CBD” “Refuses to learn tricks, give him CBD” “Ear infection? Rub a little CBD oil in his ear.” I am not saying anything for or against weed, but there is a reason the veterinary profession exists.

I have a 7 year old boxer diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma w no rumors. he was administered chemo 4 weeks ago and responded very well, but it only lasted 5 days, then right back to not eating diary ah and lethargy. So they switched him to a different chemo for another week that didny work at all. he is still drinking plenty of water and on 20 mg prednisone daily but w no eating and massive weight loss, had to hospitalize Him for iV fluids antibiotics and sub contanious fluid, in the meantime I got him the bcd oil and started him yesterday am and pm and today am and pm, was able to get him to eat a little wet food. HE is weak and is due to go bak tomorrow for adriamycin chemo ..a last resort stronger than any he has been on. we are worried about side effects making him worse than he is now, but without it, no remission is possible, was wondering if the bcd oil alone without the demo is an option..since he will probably feel better this way..so worried and scared, want to Make the right decision though. Any suggestions would be great!

Theres not alot of questions being answered here for some reason. When giving pets the iol start small ,like a toothpick with a little dab on it. Put on their mouth see how thry react. At first they’ll be very calm and kind of out of it, it can last like that for a hout or so, dont worry it gets better, thats why u start very small amount, its yhe cbds that is whats working to help them. The thc is what makes them some what high. There are different weed plants that have a higher cbd ount. ( mendo purp) is one of the top 10 with higher cbds do some research . Look under rick simson or high timeThose are just a couple good sorces but there are alot more.hopfully this helps .

The only time she eats is when I blow a dab in her face. Is there another way to where I could administer her the cannnabis without blowing in her face (she smells like weed after) can I feed her a dab? Or give her CBD oil?

Hi just read your post. My dog is 10 years old started having seizure at 7.5 years I have them on phenobarbital and potassium bromide I took him to a Energy Healer which helped him no seizures for almost 1 year but then she got very busy and is now traveling and unable to see him his seizures have started again once every month every full moon or around he also is having tremors daily which he never had. I currently started him on canna companion which is CVD in powder form they started him in smaller dosage and is now at a higher dosage but I also tried a CBD oil for my friend of ours and I think it may be working a little better I just don’t know how much I should give him he is 11 pounds it is CBD oil do I give him a drop I also have him on potassium bromide and see no still. How long would you say you begin to see results with the CBD oil? And when I gave him the CBD oil he gets very him about 3 drops at a time.

How long did it take till you saw results? My 125lb Bernese started having seizures and I’m afraid it could be a brain tumor. I started CBD oil yesterday and he’s only had 2 total doses. Do you see nearly immediate results? He just lays around right now and doesn’t recover well after the seizures and both his left legs seem like they aren’t working totally right. I pray the oil works soon! THanks

Out Shepard/boxer mix has Dx of kidney failure and we were told he had a month . That was 14 months ago. Started him on canabis honey. He is now taking a teaspoon three times a day. He is showing some signs of starting to be uncomfortable but he has lived a lot longer than expected. Massages three times a day also help with pain and I give him Reiki. Never thought at 59 years old I would be making pot infused honey but it sure has helped our big guy.

Hi Kathy, yesterday my dog has been diagnosed with Acute Renal Failure (approximately 75% of the kidneys are damaged) and a high blood pressure (190/200 to a normal 150/160). she had a IV today is now on a low protein diet, and has to take medication to lower the blood pressure. i use canabis oil myself and believe it can help her. how much of the oil have you started your dog on? obviously have to start on a very small dosage, once a day and slowly increase..?!

I am feeling really emotional about my 8 yr old boxer who has started having seizures (some of them clusters). I have been given a prescription for phenobarbital today and I just don’t know if I want to give him this medicine. I am afraid he might have a brain tumor and I have been searching for something to help him naturally. This canibis oil might be a good thing for him. I was wondering if I could ask where you get yours? I want it to be the best quality so he can make the best possible improvements. Your story gives me hope that my Bentley can possibly stop having these seizures.

I started out using .01ml CBD for my 7 lb maltese and he went from seizures every other day to 3x per month. I am using Charlotte’s Web but there are plenty of other low THC products out there. I have also used a hemp oil that is more like a paste in a syringe and that worked well too. It’s best to give it on a treat or with some kind of food.

Hi I had a question my maltese is 10 years old he started having seizures at seven and a half he is on phenobarbital and potassium bromide and I recently added hemp which was okay but not as great as what I thought and now CBD oil I am seeing a difference CBD oil but I only give him a few drops every few hours a day you said you give your dog 0.1 4.01? I’m trying to see the right dosage because lately he had a seizure and I realize that the CBD oil I had was losing potency because I stored it on the shelf instead of a refrigerator and I had it for a long time before I begin giving it to him so my friend gave me a stronger one but I’m trying to see if maybe I should give him more at one time than just a few drops. I see you have a Maltese as well mine is 11 pounds so trying to figure out if maybe I should give him a little little bit more at a time.

There are so many variables to consider with dosages, its very confusing. I am using Charlottes Web. Each bottle has a batch number and you have to calculate the amount of CBD per dosage. My maltese is getting a very high amount because of his frequency of seizures. I now give him 14mg 3x per day. I started out with 5mg 3x per day and have adjusted numerous times but only once every week or so. Another reason his dosage is so high is because I am weaning him off of Phenobarbital due to a stressed liver from being on it for so long.

Hi Tootie, I have been giving it to my dogs and horses for a good while now. If you know of any herbalists, creams ointments kind, they will point you in the right direction. There are so many people and animals on the oil in SA, there are people who make it and send it via courier. Ask @ the markets. We also through hours of research have made a canna salve – fantastic for everything. You can also get a purely herbal cream and herbal powder (no cannabis in it) from royallynne herbs in Kzn. My horses eat the powder in food and I use the cream and spray on my dog.

      September 8, 2015

      Hi Lisa,

Sorry to hear about your dogs condition. You are right to look for alternatives to the meds that she is on. As for the the Hemp products. Hemp is Cannabis and contains many phytochemicals like cannabinoids and terpenes that have been proven to aid in the reduction of pain and inflammation. This is due to the body’s endocannabinoid system and its ability to use the phytochemicals in cannabis as they are very similar to the endocannabinoids manufactured by the body. Here is the challenge…the active ingredient that has been shown to reduce inflammation and the one that everyone claims is the “magic” chemical tends to be in very small amounts when processed from Hemp. This chemical is called Cannabidiol or CBD for short. Depending on the dog and the condition they might need between 25 and 50 milligrams of CBD per day. The average Hemp product has about .024% CBD as this is the normal amount that is naturally occurring in most strains of hemp. That converts to 1/4 of a milligram by weight. So, you can see that you would need to dose a lot of product to get the daily amount that will help your dog. In addition to this, many if not most of the hemp products are lacking the very important terpenes due to the processing of the plant. They are important because they play a big role in the overall effect of the CBD. For example, if you have the right balance of terpenes in the formula and the right delivery method (most effective means of getting the phytochemicals into the blood with the least amount of degradation) you can deliver as little as 10mg of CBD per day and get the same or even better result as the 25 to 50 mg. Another challenge with hemp products is that if you are buying them from the USA then they have been manufactured outside of the USA and imported in. This is due to the federal hemp laws that require all hemp products (extractions) to be manufactured in another country. With the exception of universities and other approved institutions for study it is still illegal to grown hemp in the USA under federal law.

So, where do you get a high quality CBD product that is really going to give you what you need. Ah, that is the million dollar question. Are they out there? Yes! But they are manufactured from another strain of cannabis that is not considered hemp. That’s right…marijuana. Strains of marijuana have been used as medicine since long before it was made illegal. In the USA prior to 1937 it was actually on the pharmocopia and prescribed by medical doctors all the time for many conditions. There are strains that are designed to be high in CBD…up to 20% or grater. That’s 20 milligrams for every gram of raw material. So if they are out there how do you get them? This is yet another challenge as it is once again illegal to ship any product that was manufactured from marijuana across state lines. Even if its legal in the state is was made it is still illegal under federal law so shipping is a no no. You say you live on an island. Is medical marijuana (MM) legal on that island? If so, why not just buy a MM product there or make your own?

      • McFly
        January 7, 2016

There are a few company’s that produce top grade cbd oil using hemp, not marijuana. Though I support cannabis in general, marijuana is not legal in every state. But bluebird and a couple other companys use the same co2 extraction and thebcbd is concentrated then added to organic hemp seed oil. All the dosages are scientifically verified. If it says 250mg cbd, thats what you get.

          Hello McFly,

I have a 85lb labrador (10 yrs old) who was diagnosed with oral sarcoma. She has since had a portion of her jaw removed where the tumor presented itself and the vet reported that the surgical removal of her jaw showed they had taken enough and that their margins were CLEAR. My dog is amazing and bounced right back after such a traumatic surgery. All was going well for two weeks, until….a growth showed up in her mouth, that has since grown in size and vet is 99% sure the tumor has grown back..SARCOMA…no chance for another surgery and we started with low dose chemo but are not confident it helps as it doesn’t zero in on just the cancer cells as we all know. Point is, we did our research and are hoping for a HAIL MARY…we ordered CBD oil in Hemp from BlueBird 500mg CBD in a 2oz CBD Hemp Blend Bottle, how much of this should I be giving my dog??? Should I order the next size up 1000mg CBD in a 4oz hemp blend bottle?? It’s costly…but I will make it work if there’s a chance it will save my precious darling dog. I’ve looked everywhere on dosage for a dog…everything comes up in milliGRAMS…very confusing..especially cause the CBD is already infused into the HEMP oil, so I can’t figure out how much CBD I will get if I convert milligrams into the hemp CBD blend milliliters? PLEASE HELP…every hour counts…

It wont hurt Debbie. I give 3 of my dogs 4 drops each a day, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. hello I give my dog CBD oil for seizures and it has been helping him a lot. I also came across on the internet when I was doing research on seizures on dogs wear a lot of dogs get ear infections because they get this type of prickly flower stuck in their ear I forgot the name of it but make sure he gets checked inside his ear and he has nothing in there but that’s what causes certain seizures and certain dogs it’s this flower that gets in their ear. I came across a story where a dog had a situation like yours and they found out it was that little flower prickly flower that got in his ear once I found it it was deep deep inside no more seizures so make sure they check his ears very well she wanted to make sure other people know because it happens a lot to dogs. I can also give you my friends number and he can tell you what to give him in regards to CBD oil it doesn’t hurt to try because I’ve seen miraculous results with various humans and pets. He owns a company but he makes a dosage just for my 11 pound Maltese.

Hi, I have a 10 year old, 16 kilo Dachshund who has Cushing’s Disease. I have purchased Hemp 4 Health, 1000mgs. I am unsure how many drops to use for Limo. I was using Canna Pet but it can no longer be imported. Any help on many drops to use would be wonderful.
      Cheers

To treat epilepsy you need more like a couple droppers full daily. Start at 2mg cbd per pound of body weight until controlled and then you can scale it back but if you can affors it this is the best bet. Bluebird botanical is a good cheap site for quality cbd oil. It costs me 62.5$ a month for my 8 lb chihuahua so its still more pricy then pheno or potassium br but its good for the dogs. Doesnt destroy the liver and pancreas like other seizure medications. You can get better prescription meds if you seea neurologist. I was so lucky to find one who talks to me on the phone and doesnt charge me after the initial consult. Good luck. Definitely try the oil if you can.

Hey! Thanks for your information. My dog is currently on phenobarbital for his epilepsy and I just purchased cannabis oil online for him, as I would like to start the treatment. Do you have any idea how to start since he’s taking phenobarbital? Weaning him off? How soon? At all? Thanks in advance!!!

Rick Simpson oil is suppose to work. But you can also get Coriolas Versicolor, aka Turkeytail mushroom or Yun Zhi. (Those three names are for the same mushroom, but I think it’s sold in eBay as Yun Zhi). Researchers at Penn State (or Perdue–sorry I forgot) researched the mushroom in a double blind study, and found it to slow cancer. I used it with my English Mastiff (dog), whom had cutaneous hemangiosarcoma, and it worked with great success. A ruptured disc got him before the aggressive cancer did. (Then again, my dog was raw fed a species appropriate diet–so that undoubtedly helped too).

Dogs on pharmaceuticals won’t get any real benefits from hemp. THC is needed for cancer and epilepsy. Beware of all those online hemp oils. They don’t have enough CBD and virtually no THC which is the reason they can be mailed everywhere. It is the wild wild west and the snake oil is being touted all over again. People should be smarter this time around.

I have read that Inositol IP6 is effective against cancer and tumors. I understand that two capsules, twice a day, on an empty stomach is the dose. I’ve been giving it to my dog and it really seems to have a positive effect on her. (And believe me, this dog gets a handful of supplements daily–CoQ10, Resveratrol, Tocotrienols, Dasquin, etc. So, I really notice when there’s a difference in her appearance and behavior).
I just ordered CBD Hemp fro Bluebird Botanicals in Colorado, for my Toy Poodle, showing signs of Cushing’s, they seem to have the best price and it was recommended from an Amazon review. (I see below that someone else has already recommended it).

    Hello everyone,
Does anybody out there have any experience with treating cancer in cats? My cat just had a tumor removed from intestines, but it has spread to his lymph nodes. But the lymph node can’t be removed beacuse it its attached to his main leg artery.
Can anyone point me to a vet or website that can help? I live in Northern Ca, so I can easily get “Phoenix Tears” but need help in dosage and admistration techniques.
    THANK YOU!

I have a 3 1/2 year old German shepherd. He, Rococo, was diagnosed with epilepsy 2 years ago. He suffers from “cluster seizures” (if untreated). For nearly a year, he went without any seizures but was put on phenobarb. Despite the perfect timing of his meds, he began having breakthrough seizures. He is super high anxiety. So, after his 2nd hospital stay, his vets added a compounded KBr (potassium bromide) to his list of daily meds (phenobarb every 12 hours, KBr every 12 hours). After his last episode, 4 months ago, his vets added Xanax to be given as needed. So far, his levels medication wise, are all within “gold” range. It’s getting to a point where I do not feel that it’s helping his issue in the long run. Eventually, the medications won’t be strong enough, all while being detrimental to his liver & kidney function. I refuse to add another daily medication. I feel that Rococo’s quality of life just wouldn’t be right. Getting to the point here, I’ve been researching CBD oil for the treatment of epilepsy in dogs. I am located in a state that’s not legalized marijuana in any form. So the words hemp, cannibus, etc? People think I’m crazy. I’m wondering if anyone out there has gone down the chemical medication road with some luck, but has moved toward the CBD oil? I would be too afraid to just add something new to his regimen, without vet awareness. I just simply want to help my animal who can’t speak for himself. Thank you for any comments or advice!

Hi, my 2 year old dog also has epilepsy. was just diagnosed in September. I give him treatibles 3 times a day. they are CBD but the company will actually ship them. I order mine from bestbullysticks.com since it’s cheaper there, but my pup was having seizures every 2 months and now went 3 months without having one. he is also still on pheno but i’m hoping to wean him off of it because of the long term effects, i don’t want to lose him to liver issues. Epilepsy for sure sucks and is very hard, but I’m hoping to find a cbd oil that i can put on his food to get him off of those pills sooner than later.

I just put my dog on CBD, they’re bacon treats with CBD in them so it’s easy for dogs to eat them without any hassle, and it works wonders! she was on Phebo for 3 years and her check ups were really expensive, these medicated treats were $1 per treat or $20 for the whole bag of 30. her appetite is back as well which is great. you will need a medical marijuana certificate to get them or you can order online!

Hi. My dog has MANY TUMORS in her, one the size of a small football right in her heart area. I just found out about cannibus oil helping with tumors and cancer in both people and animals. It would be a hassle to put drops in her daily, so I am interested in the dogs treats with CBD oil inside them! Can you tell me where to order it? Thanks!

I have used the oil as an alternative treatment for myself with a very positive outcome, and thought it may help someone if I shared my experience with it.

The reason I took the decision to use cannabis oil through the help of DR PALMER email: “drjacquelinepalmerhealthcare@live.com”.
I was diagnosed with a Grade 2 oligo-astronomy brain tumor back in 2007 undergoing further surgery in 2009 again in 2011 when it was diagnosed as a grade 3/4 aggressive surgery followed the majority was taken but certain sections couldn’t be removed due to quality of life a course of radiotherapy for 6 weeks followed.

Knowing I was still not in the clear for several years to come, I decided to look at other options. In 2014 after a climbing accident, my head and back took a fair beating on my way down so off to hospital I went with a lump on my head the size of a melon and unable to walk. I was informed they had found several small tumors 5 in all within my cerebellum and four along my spine; so I was in a very bad state indeed! The medical teams treating me elected to transfer me to another hospital to under go Gamma Knife Radio surgery at Sheffield Hospital UK.
However, a miscommunication between the medical teams resulted in me not being transferred in time, each team thinking the other had it in hand.“Stunned”

Informing me that as I had slipped through the net my only option left was chemotherapy, I rejected their suggestion reminding them chemotherapy was medically proven to be ineffective in treating spinal tumors, and they should already have been aware of this, naturally I declined that option. So after many an argument and denial my oncologist finally agreed with me that he knew this was correct but thought the only option left was chemotherapy as it might help in delaying it until they could figure out a way forward. I pointed out that as it had been proven ineffective I would almost certainly be dead before they could find a way forward emphasizing, there was no need for me to endure all of the side effects that come with this treatment?
Palmed off to die.It was like trying to convince a caveman the word was not flat!

I then made my decision to seek an alternative hospital and my remedy WAS be Cannabis Oil,I was still skeptical, you have to be your playing with your own life here walking away from conventional medicine is not easy even when you know it will not work.
After following my supplier’s instructions Dr Palmer via email: “drjacquelinepalmerhealthcare@live.com” to take it three times a day I could hardly function, electing to take it all before bedtime proved to be far better, this way I did not suffer the after effects nice though it was one still needs to function to some degree. Within 3 weeks, I had my MRI scan and met with my oncologist, informing me that it seems to have reduced, smugly patting himself on the back. I was delighted and relieved I then informed him I had withdrawn from all of North Staff’s treatment suggesting he should take the time to read my files, once again questioning his competence! No confidence at all with them.

I transferred to another hospital The Clatter bridge Center Wirral after a further two MRI scans came back clear showing NO SIGN of the tumors. Leaving my consultant baffled, as he had not treated me whilst under his care, I could not share my little secret, as he is a little old school. So all I can say is it has worked for me I took a very hard and brave decision to withdraw from conventional medicine believe me it was a hard choice but it has worked. Thanks to DR PALMER for providing me with the oil and helping me through the treatment with a lot of his counseling. You can contact him directly via email: “drjacquelinepalmerhealthcare@live.com” DIRECTLY for your own cure.

I still undergo regular scans but up to now I am still here to annoy and love my family, God bless you Dr Palmer and Rick Simpson oil.

    Sincerely
    Bulvas George

Hi. It is true. I have a St. Mix. He is 15, and has trouble getting up. I cannot take him for walks anymore, although he wants to go. Vet only gave dog drugs when I said he needed it . New vet, do not recommend them. I too have been researching cannabis for myself. While at a supplier, I noticed dog treats and oil. I knew he needed something, the vet was useless. At this point, it definitely could not hurt. At first it seemed a bit slow, but he was not in that great of shape. Now he can move a lot better. Perfect, no, but a major improvement in his quality of life. He can move so much easier. He seems to have arthritis, at his injury sites, just like me, so I could see it in him too. Quality of life, as opposed to unnecessary suffering. Anyone to stubborn to believe it is just missing out on relief, for the wrong reasons. It is only illegal because they make so much money from keeping it that way. Research it yourself, it is all out there, proof it is a natural wonder, as opposed to the synthetic crap big pharma tries to force on you, even when it causes more problems then it solves. Cannabis is a God made, natural plant, which they cannot patent, so they made a synthetic, fake version, which the FDA approved. Time to stop believing the propaganda. Natural is the safest and best way.

Unbelievable! Everything you asserted is exactly everything I believe! I just couldn’t have made such a well-written commentary like you.

My dog also struggles with arthritis at the injury site in addition to normal hip display is. Is there a way you could provide me with more details about what exactly what you use and how much the dose would be? I have a vial but keep reading that it’s extremely toxic and I’m scared.

Yesterday morning, he fell down while urinating and laid on side until he was finished (I am assuming he couldn’t stop mid-steam). I was and am terribly hurt and scared. I’m too heartbroken and I don’t want to ever see that again.

I’d certainly appreciate whatever advice you can offer. This has become unbearable for my family and me. His name is Mylan. He is a nine year-old Ridgeback mix and about 66 lbs.

I have been giving my dog CBD treats from TobyCBDTreats.com – They are homemade and the only treats my dog will eat (she’s old and picky). They have helped immensely! She can walk 1.5 miles now and wasn’t even able to walk a 1/2 mile before. She has a congenital knee problem that has gotten painful now that she is close to 12 years old. Without the treats she isolates and doesnt want to move from the pain.

My friend was dumbfounded when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. we couldn’t believe that at age 44, after lifelong vigilance about her health and steadfastly showing up for regular mammograms and sonograms, She not only had cancer, but it had metastasized throughout her bones. we had bought into the battle cry for early detection and tried to practice it. How could this be?
Pain in her hand, neck and back, not a lump in her breast, got her to the hospital for an MRI. By the time her cancer was detected, the horse was out of the barn and surgery to remove it was no longer an option. Not wanting to travel, she was lucky to be able to take treatment at a clinic on Long Island near my home. Being ER and PR positive, at their direction she had her ovaries removed to reduce the estrogen in her body. She began an aromatase inhibitor to slow the progression of the disease and medication to reduce or delay bone damage from the cancer.

It’s been a rough road and along the way we have tried to expand our options by exploring ways to supplement my medical treatments, because we have been told about cannabis oil and how it has save many life. i order the oil via email: Rickcancercure1@gmail and it was delivered over to me and i can tell the world that my friend am now a cancer survivor.
