Uruguay Lawmakers Approve Measure Legalizing Cannabis

The nation of Uruguay has just taken a huge step towards becoming the first country to legalize cannabis: The nation’s House of Represuruguayentatives (known in Uruguay as theĀ Chamber of Deputies) has approved a measure – 50 to 46 – which legalizes the possession, use and sale of cannabis to adults; the proposal is backed entirely by the nation’s president, and will now head to the Senate, where its passage is expected.

Under the proposed legislation, the possession and government-distribution (through designated cannabis clubs and pharmacies) of up to 40 grams of cannabis would be entirely legalized for adults 18 and older.

According to supporters of legalized cannabis in Uruguay, this measure will not only free up prison space, put it will put a halt to a dangerous black-market, and bring much-needed revenue to the nation.

You know if the U.S. would just sit back and keep track on how much money they are saving on making this decision, then maybe, just maybe, they would see it the way that you do. I think it is a great idea and should be just as restricted as cigarettes and alcohol. We can go buy a cigarette from a stranger on the street, or a beer from your friendly neighbor, but when it comes to cannabis, you get humiliated hand cuffed, and thrown into a back of a cruiser, While it’s still out there on the streets, costing us billions of dollars in tax payers money..

Well then, Leashia, the USA would have no justification for such a massive police state they’ve been steadily building for years now. That, and as long as the ‘right’ people are making a profit from the fact that is is NOT legal, well, good luck with that.

Once again, Vickie Ives cares about nobody but herself. Her Satanist beliefs led her to breed deformed and disabled cats, get behind a movie made about an infamous fraudster (Frank Hopkins), and a horse abuser from the Old West, exploit her own kids, all for her own selfish pleasure. She doesn’t think anything about throwing millions of people off their health care. Hope you get poisoned by your own weed, Vickie Frankenstein.
