Nevada: Signatures Submitted to Put Cannabis Legalization to a Vote

Activists in Nevada have submitted roughly 200,000 nevsignatures to put an initiative to legalize cannabis to a vote, well more than the 102,000 required.

State Senator Richard Segerblom and Joe Brezny of the Nevada Cannabis Industry Association submitted the signatures this morning to the Clark County Elections Department in North Las Vegas. Once the clerk’s office verifies that enough of the signatures are valid – meaning they’re from registered Nevada voters – the initiative will be sent to Nevada’s Legislature for consideration. The Legislature will then have the option of passing the measure into law, or sending it to a vote of the people in 2016.
