Proposal to Protect Medical Cannabis Filed in Washington

A legislative proposal to protect medical cannabis patients and collectives in Washington has been filed in the state’s House of Representatives, according to the nonprofit organizationmedical-marijuana-symbol Sensible Washington.

Under the proposed law – House Bill 2233 – medical cannabis patients would finally receive defined arrest protection, as would medical cannabis collectives who receive a simple business license from the state. The measure was formulated by Sensible Washington in conjunction with Americans for Safe Access.

Washington State Liquor Control Board Issues Official Recommendations for Medical Cannabis Regulations

Today the Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) released its official recommendations on regulating medical cannabis in the state. walcb

Tasked with regulating the upcoming recreational cannabis market brought forth by passage of Initiative 502 last year, the WSLCB was directed through a provision in the state’s budget to work with the state’s Department of Revenue and Department of Health to draft recommendations to the state legislature on how to regulate the state’s medical cannabis market now that recreational cannabis is legal. Now, the final recommendations have been sent forth to the legislature for consideration.

Delaware Governor Moving Forward With Medical Cannabis Program

In 2011 Delaware’s governor signed a proposal into law which legalized medical cannabis in the state, allowing patients to legally possess it, and authorizing a dispensary in each of the state’s three counties.medical-marijuana-logo-hemp-beach-tv-hbtv However, the governor quickly halted implementation of the law, citing concerns over federal law, and fears that the feds would prosecute state employees. Now, the governor has announced that he’s moving forward with the implementation of the law, though he’s calling for a scaled-back approach, with the opening of just one dispensary.

Cannabis has reached a new level of technological convenience; an app to connect cannabis consumers directly to growers in California.phoneaP

The “Ganjavous” app will allow growers to post pictures and prices of their product for patients to browse, and allows customers to write reviews on the products.

According to their website:

“Listings can be filtered based on type, quantity, price and distance so you can easily find what you are looking for. Each user account and product listing has a rating system attached to it. The community rating system will let you know who to avoid and who to connect with. User accounts remain completely anonymous. When you’re ready, you can share as much or as little information as you want with other users that you add to your collective.”
