Albuquerque, New Mexico City Council Passes Measure to Decriminalize Cannabis

The Albuquerque, New Mexico City Council today passed a measure to decriminalize the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis. The proposal was approved with a 5 to 4 vote.

The ordinance would remove the possession of an ounce or less of cannabis from the city’s criminal code, effectively making it no longer a crime.

Cannabis paraphernalia would also be decriminalized.
