Ohio Ballot Board Approves Initiative to Legalize Cannabis

The Ohiojoint Ballot Board has given approval to an initiative to legalize cannabis, giving advocates the go-ahead to begin collecting signatures towards putting the proposal on the 2015 general election ballot. The initiative was approved last week by the state’s Secretary of State.

The initiative, put forth by ResponsibleOhio, would legalize the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis for those 21 and older, and would establish a system of state-licensed cannabis retail outlets. These outlets would be supplied by ten cannabis production centers located throughout the state.

The group has until July 1st to collect 305,591 signatures from registered Ohio voters to put the proposal to a vote this November.

Don’t be desperate amd allow this ogliopoly to pass. Their bill will enact punishments actually worse than they are now. There is nothing what so ever to help medical patients amd their idea of home grow is 4 plants that you have to buy a liscence for and allow their “enforcers” to come into your home and inspect your setup literally whenever they want and without telling you. This is literally the worst possible scenario for cannabis legilization. Worse than the current decrim status. Do not vote for them and make sure everyone you know knows this so they dont vote for them either. Also what they propose id an amendment to ohio constitutio. It is extremely hard to reverse once it too late.

This is bad bad bad. Use your heads people. The amendment doesn’t legalize anything but buying small amounts from their monopoly. People will still b going to jail for marijuana offenses. If you are caught with more than 4 flowering plants u will still be subject to Ohio current law, be default. The amendments omits many other legalities regarding user rights. That means, by default many Ohio marijuana laws are still in effect.

Another tidbit, Responsibleohios amendment is reclassifying marijuana as the entire plant root system and all, as opposed to Ohio current law which defines marijauna as only dried flowers.

Also what they don’t tell u about the 1500 $10k dispensary licenses is that they must be voted on by the public in order to be opened. So it’s not going to be easy to open shit. for anyone, let alone 1500. To put this in perspective there are only 250 odd Starbucks in Ohio. To think 1500 dispensary are going to open in Ohio and provide 1000s of jobs is a load of shit.

Ohio we have choices. U don’t buy from the first car dealership before shopping around, so don’t jump the gun on this major issue. Research and educate yourself about our choices for legalization

This should not be signed! Where is the one the reformed with no penalty for carry or consumption and thebpardons for people arrested on petty charges? That one was scrapped! They won’t let Ohio stand up and speak! So we shall write our own reform!
