Las Vegas City Council Approves Twenty-Six Medical Cannabis Dispensaries
The Las Vegas City Council has given approval to twenty-six medical cannabis dispensaries, which will now be vetted by the state’s Department of Health.
Once applicants receive approval from the state, they’ll need to once more go before the City Council for final approval. Those that are denied by the city or state will be allowed to apply again next year.
In total over 50 applications were submitted for medical cannabis dispensaries in the city, with roughly half being denied for various reasons, namely missing paperwork. Among those approved by the Council is former Nevada Assemblyman Mark James.
The Council is still set to consider additional applications for production and cultivation permits, though no timeline has been set on when this will take place.
