Marijuana Advocates to Light Up, Hand Out Thousands of Joints During Trump Inauguration

Cannabis advocates have announced that they will lighting up cannabis joints – and handing out thousands for free – during and leading up to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration; the event takes place on January 20th.

inauguration“We have to give away marijuana at the Inauguration; we have to encourage people to use marijuana during his speech;” says Adam Eidenger of the DC Cannabis Campaign, which spearheaded Initiative 71, the district’s successful 2014 legalization initiative. “I imagine there’ll be the smell of marijuana throughout the Inauguration”.

According to Eidenger, the group will meet outside of Dupon Circle on the morning of the 20th, and will eventually parade toward the National Mall; they will hand out 4,200 free joints along the way.

Members of the group plan to light up four minutes and 20 seconds into Trump’s inaugural address.

“If you do it at four minutes and 20 seconds into his speech people will know when they smell it that it is a demonstration for marijuana reform,” says Eidenger.
