Cannabidiol Can Kill Multiple Myeloma Cells

Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that begins in the bone marrow, and has a median survival rate of around 3 years. According to a study published in the most recent issue of the International Journal of Cancer, cannabidiol, a compound found in cannabis, can slow, and even kill multiple myeloma cancer cells.

Cannabidiol, one of many compounds found in cannabis.

Cannabidiol, one of many compounds found in cannabis.

“Multiple myeloma (MM) is a plasma cell (PC) malignancy characterised by the accumulation of a monoclonal PC population in the bone marrow (BM). Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid with antitumoural activities”, begins the study’s abstract.

After studying the effects of cannabidiol on multiple myeloma cells, researchers found that; “CBD by itself or in synergy with BORT strongly inhibited growth, arrested cell cycle progression and induced MM cells death by regulating the ERK, AKT and NF-κB pathways with major effects in TRPV2+ cells.” They conclude that; “These data provide a rationale for using CBD to increase the activity of proteasome inhibitors in MM.”

The study, which validates a recent National Institute of Health study which also found that cannabidiol can inhibit cancer cells, was conducted by researchers at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Camerino in Italy.

Jen, I had a stem cell transplant and have been in remission for almost 3 years. Except for the damage done to my ribs, I can do almost anything that I want. My back was really damaged too, but oddly enough, its the ribs that give me problems. I am also now using Frankincense and taking Pau di Arco. Someone just hooked me up with this website. So I plan on doing this too, but I wanted to send encouragement to your father.

My mother has MM. She used to take Alceran first year, and now she has been taking Thalidomid for a year. MM is partly in remission. I am afraid – how those medecines affect other parts of the body. I am thinkkng aboht this oil. I don’t know – should she take Thalidomide with the oil. Or just oil.

Martin, I had a stem cell transplant June ’08 and had been on Revlmid since then as maintenance. Have been in remission for awhile now. Unfortunately, I now have MDS, and will start chemo for that next week, it was directly responsible for this cancer, and guess what, I have to have another stem cell transplant and this time it will be donor driven wherein the first one I had was my own stem cells.
Right now, Colorado is the forefront for this type of CBD study

      Hi Cristina,
We are treating my father in law with RSO today. He has Multiple Myeloma, he has been receiving chemo, and was in remission for about a year, but now MM has decided to grow and has spread to his pelvis and hip bones. He has been on very expensive chemo drugs, and will probably be using a variety of chemo drugs throughout this year. Today , We are now combatting with RSO. We understand to use an full spectrum (using stem, leaves, and flower buds) Indica strain of cannabis and processing it along the guidelines of “making RSO” which can be done at home using the whole plant. After making the RSO, we needed a small digital scale, cacao butter, and we measured 1gram of RSO (on the scale with a piece of wax paper) and then 27Grams of melted cocao butter. If your scale doesn’t measure high enough, then try to measure about 100ml of cacao butter in a measuring cup, then bring to a slow warm/melt. Youll need about 30 suppository forms. There were some forms available on Amazon that had a cap on one end of the form. These worked great. Once The cocao butter is melted, then add 1gram of the RSO oil. You’ll stir until its all blended in a small sauce pan. Then extract The melted RSO and cocao butter using a pipet. ( Im not sure if a turkey baster can be used, but a pipet will be perfect.) At this point, fill up your suppository forms, and if you have left over, then have a small ice cube tray ready for left overs to re-melt and use for the suppository forms at a later time.
Then place the suppository forms in the freezer for about 15 minutes then transfer to fridge. To remove, remove the bottom cap by pulling off, then use the small clear shaft that will allow for you to push the suppository out of the form. Store them in the fridge in a small container. According to some websites, there are a few protocols for cancer treatment which is a 90 day, which uses up 60Grams all together. The suppositories are now for use x3 per day for 2 weeks. Then for the batches after 2 weeks we will strengthen the amount of RSO oil ratio, to where it will be consuming roughly 1 Gram per day. I know its difficult to find answers, but this is the best we can do for now.
