Bill to Free Inmates Serving Life in Prison for Cannabis Passes House Committee in Missouri

A bill that missouriwould free those serving life in prison for cannabis in Missouri has passed the state’s House Corrections Committee.

The committee approved an amendment adding an emergency clause to the measure, meaning it would take effect immediately upon passage.

Representative Shane Roden was the sole “No” vote on the 12-person committee.

If approved into law, House Bill 978 would require the Board of Probation and Parole to authorize the release of any offender who is incarcerated and serving a life sentence without parole for cannabis offenses. This would effect the imprisonment of Jeff Mizanskey, who is currently serving life without parole for a nonviolent cannabis-related charge, and has been in prison for over 20 years.

Free Mizanski and others like him.
He is not a violent criminal, and his sentence is ridiculous and cruel for possession of a simple plant, one of God’s creations. Murderers and rapists get sentences of less severity.
Stop the lunacy and free Jeff immediately.

How long until they pass that bill and set a release date. He’s already done 21 years for a flower. We don’t even have weed laws here anymore.
