Medical Cannabis Legalization Bill Given Approval by Pennsylvania House of Representatives

pennPennsylvania’s full House of Representatives has given approval to Senate Bill 3, a proposal to legalize medical cannabis. The vote was 149 to 43.

Senate Bill 3, introduced by Senators Daylin Leach and Mike Folmer, has already been approved by the state’s full Senate with a 40 to 7 vote, though it will need to be voted on again due to changes in the bill. Governor Tom Wolf, who’s supportive of allowing the medical use of cannabis, says he’ll sign the bill into law if given the chance (a chance he’ll be given if it once again passes the Senate).

If it does become law, as is expected, the proposal would allow those who receive a recommendation from a physician to possess and use cannabis medicines such as tinctures, oils, edibles and lotions; smoking cannabis, unfortunately, would remain prohibited even for patients.

The proposal would establish a system of state-licensed production and distribution centers, providing patients with a means of safe access to their medicine. Conditions that would qualify an individual to become a legal medical cannabis patient includes cancer, seizure disorders, glaucoma, post traumatic stress disorder and multiple sclerosis, among others

According to polling released last year, an overwhelming 90% of voters in Pennsylvania support legalizing medical cannabis.

this bill has been stripped so much that it is essentially useless. people are moving out of the state because of there lack of ability to produce a decent medical cannabis program. the politicians in this state have so much funding from pharma that its has destroyed the chance of millions of people getting and good treatment. whether its cancer, pain, ptsd, or other issues.

this doesnt surprise me one bit from this shit hole of a state.
