‘‘Allowing doctors to provide relief to patients through the use of appropriately regulated and dispensed medical marijuana is the compassionate and right policy for the state of New Hampshire”, stated Governor Hassan.

The new law, which will take effect immediately, allows qualified patients who receive a recommendation from their doctor to possess up to two ounces of cannabis legally. The new law also establishes a system to license dispensaries which will distribute medicine to patients.

With the governor’s signature, New Hampshire becomes the 20th state to approve of a medical cannabis law in the United States.
